TOOKEY.
The 200 feet lerel is in 160 feet North. along the course of the reef in good country, and excellent, progress,<lias, been made. The cross-cut from it is in about 30 feet, on a cross-leader. which is Bft. 6in.
wide, and from which. a crushing will shortly ba taken. On the 400 feet level the works are stopped consequent on the alterations being made in the United Pumping Association's pump gear. The main shaft has been sunk an additional depth of 60 feet making the total depth of Tookey's shaft 360 feet, or within 40 feet of the Pumping Association's lowest level; the cross-cut from which is directly under Tookey's shaft. Before the temporary stoppage caused by the alteration of the Pumping Association plunger etc., preparations were being made to commence a rise from the cross cut to meet the sinkers in Tookey's. The work will be commenced immediately.
