UNLICENSED COMPANIES.

FINES IMPOSED. By Telepraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 12. A number of rompanies carrying on business in Canterbury and Otago wero convicted in tho Magistrate's Court this morning before Mr H. Y.. Widdowson S.M., on charges of not having licenses, and were fined in amounts ranging from £5 downwards. The informations were laid by tho Commissioner of Stamp Duties.
