FIRES.
SAWMILL DESTROYED.. By Telegraph—Tress Association. GORE, April 12. Tho sawmill of Messrs Holliday Bros., at Waitane, near Mataura, was destroyed by fire yesterday morning. The hands worked hard to save the mill, but the flames had too good a hold when the outbreak was discovered The owners have decided to rebuild the mill on modern lines immediately. The insurances total' Blood m the Victoria Office, but the loss exceeds tins figure considerably. BOX FACTORY BURNED. By Telegraph—Pross Association. EICETAHUNA, April 12. _ At mid-day yesterday F. Burling s box factory and machinery were totally destroyed by fire, which apparently started in the vicinity of the boiler room. A quantity of sawn timber was also lost. The insurance was £llOO. The loss is estimated at £BOO over this amount.
