A special meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was bold to-day to farewell Rose ami McTlolm, who will leave to-morrow night for Auckland. It is stated that they will proceed via- Vancouver to New York. where they will be met by -Mr B. Krogness junr., anil also representatives ol the American A.A.A. They will then go to England, whore they will he. met by the Council representative, Dr A. E. Borrilt. Bose will compete at the English championships on .July 3. Boj ; ponding til the fareiYell, Bose said he fully intended to do his. very best. MoHolni promised to do his duties thoroughly, and said Bose is one of the most promising men Non - Zealand ever s( nt abroad.
