RAINFALL RECORDS.

MARCH AVEATHER. Rainfall records in South Canterbury for March are leported as follows : ~ , ■ Mr G. L. Twentyman, Seadown Rain fell on eight days, the fall lor the month aggregating l*4o ' nches - The highest fall was .82 inches on March 23rd. n • n Mr A. J.-Blakiston, Oran Gorge.— There were nine days’ rain with a total of 2.80 inches. The maximum fall was 1 13. on the 23rd. The lall lor the same period in the previous year was 12 davs with a. total of 2 56 inches. "Mr* A. E. Gillingham, Cave.—The fill at Cave totalled 181 points. Rain fell on six days, the heaviest being 87 points registered on March 23rd. Mr R. T. "Searles, Bevels.—During last 'month rain fell on seven days, the heaviest being experienced on March 23, when 90 points were taken. The total for the month was 1.41 Mr H. AV. Bishop, Lyalldale.—There were six days with rain, the heaviest fall being 66 points on March 23rd. Total for the month 1.39 inches. Mr J. Bishop, Pleasant Point.; —In.e fall for-the month totalled 1.49 inches, and the heaviest fall was 67 points on the 31st. Tiic country is_ looking well and the prospect for winter feed is good. ~ Mr J. McCort. Limestone valley.— Rain fell on eight days, the heaviest being on March 23rd, when 97 points were registered. The total for the month wais 1.03 inches. Mr N. 1). Harper., curator at the Timnru Gardens, reports that the rainfall for the month totalled 1.46 inches. .Rain fell oil seven days, the maximum fall being 92 paints on March 23rd.
