For the second day of the A.J.C. meeting, the attendance numbered 80,000. There was brilliant sunshine, and the track was in good order. A feature of the day was the win in the Cup by Murray Ring, after an. exciting race wherein the winner led all the way. .After passing the stand the first round, Tilliewinkie occupied a prominent position till passing the four furlong post, when he dropped back. Heroic ran a fine race, lying handy all the time, and made a great finishing run, but was unablo to get through. On the report of a veterinary surgeon the stewards rejected Royal Tea’s entry for the Easter Stakes as he is suffering from a skin disease. In the Flying Handicap Father’s Voice, Mars and Bathos were never prominent. The last-named was slow in leaving the barrier. Horoscope was always well back in the Higliweight Handicap. Results:—

Minterno led early, but jumping sideways, Prince Arim took the lead going up the back, and in a close finish had half a length to spare. Time, 4min Mendip and Goorinpa last their riders. FIRST NURSERY, of 1000 sovs; 8 furlongs.—First Division : Quince 6.10, 1 ; Military Lady 7.5, 2; Kapuya 7.10, 3. Thirteen started. Quince was always in front from Suggrapho and Persuasion. In a close finish Quince won by a neck. Time, lmin 15sec.
Second Division: Count Richmond 6.13. 1; Edonrina 6.11, 2: Mooch Along 7.6, 3. Fourteen started. Allua, Count Richmond and Golden made the

SYDNEY CUP, of 6000 sovs; 2 miles —Murray King (McNamara) 7.2, 1; Caseta (Policy) 8.1, 2; Naos’ (Hunter) 6.7, 3. Non-starters were —To Monanui. Confusion, Virgin Gold and Tibbie. Heroic was slow to start, but was running second to Murray King passing the stand. Pillicwinkie ran to second place out of the straight, and maintained his position till leaving the back. Entering the straight Murray King led from Naos, Dion, Pilliewinkie, Tookarb.v, Shrapnel and Heroic. In a very exciting finish. Murray King gained the verdict by half a neck, Naos being a head behind Caseta. Time, 3miu 26sec. ADELAIDE, April 5. The Groat Eastern Steeplechase resulted Mount Cooper 1, Merry Mao 2, Haoni 3.
