EASTER IN ROME.
IMPRESSIVE CEREMONIES. Ay Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association ROME, April 2. Good Friday was celebrated with a solemn ceremony in the Major Basilica. Numerous visitors attended a ceremony at St. John Lateran, where'high dignitaries of the church, Cardinal Pomfili, arch-Priest of the Basilica ami vicar of Rome presided. The long procession through the Basilica was most impressive, due to the singing of the choir in tho Sistine Chanel. The blessed sacrament was carried by the archipi'iest from the altar of file repose. Cardinal Fruhwirt bestowed indul* gencies on the faithful.
