MORTON AND CO. Messrs Morton and Co., Ltd., report for week ending March 27th, res follows : Poultry was in keen demand oil Friday, and very satisfactory prices were well supplied, and there was a were well isuplied, and there was u good attendance of buyers at Friday’s auction. S.C. Egg and Poultry Society’s eggs were in strong demand, and prices were slightly firmer. Business with fruit was brisk. Consignments of stone fruit, eased off slighi.lv, the season being practically over, i Supplies of tomatoes were affected by the colder weather, and were much lighter, and prices firmer. Good dessert apples and pears were in very keen demand, and all lines sold readily. Nectarines and apricots arc finished. Inquiries for property were lairlv steady, and good business was done in this department.
