CASUALTIES.
SUICIDE DUNEDIN, March 26. At the inquest of Robert VTison (66), killed at the Rattray Street railway crossing, on Monday the evidence showed that deceased threw himself in front of the engine. ; The Coroner returned a verdict ol suicide. AUCKLAND MOTOR FATALITY.

The victims of the Anzac Avenue accident were returning from a bowling tournament match, between tlie Retail and AVholesalo Drapery Firms, of the province, held in "the Auckland Club it green. . . Jackson is progressing well. ~ AVilson, who was killed, was a wenknown resident of Hamilton, aged o 4 years, a son of the late Mr Adam WilFOn, of the firm of Messrs AA'ilson, AYII- - a lid McCullagh, drapers of Auckland. In his early days lie was a prominent athlete and attained some success as a runner. Later bo was connected with the firm of Messrs Adair and Co., Napier, till he entered into business as a mercer at Hamilton twenty years ago. He frequently represented the Hamilton Bowling Club at provincial and Dominion tournaments. Ho leaves a widow and three children, tlie eldest 19 years of age and the youngest 15 years. LORRY DRIVER KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. CARTERTON, March 26. A fatal accident occurred at Martinborough yesterday afternoon. I-lenry Hodges Harrison, a motor lorry driver, employed by Messrs Chapman and Sous, was proceeding to Martinborough with a load of four tons cement, and) '"■hen ascending the Otaraia cutting, a very steep pinch, attempted to change gears, but missed, and the lorry ran backwards over the side of the road, and foil 40 feet. Nicholson, a youth riding with Harrison. jumped clear and was uninjured, hut, Harrison was buried under the eapsized load. AVhen extricated bv Dr. AA’cbb lie was dead. Deceased was a married man (38), with no childien.
