CHARGE AGAINST SECRETARY. By Te'ejrmnh--Tro.u Annotation. AUCKLAND, Alareh 23'. At tho Police Court, the Inspector of Awards claimed £lO from T. F. Anderson, secretary of the Auckland Seamen’s Union, on a. charge of having incited or instigated an unlawful strike on the steamer Whungapo on January 8 The case arose out of t-lie trouble in which the coastal seamen refused to work the steam valves. It was alleged that tho defendant endeavoured to prevent Albert Blackburn sailing on any ship, until he. paid a fine of Cl to the Executive of the Wellington Union. Defendant, in evidence, admitted that Anderson offered to lend him the money to pay his fine. There will he argument this afternoon oil a. non-suit point.
