Lord Burghlcv beat Porritt by a yard in the' 220 yards low hurdles. He also won the 120 yards' hurdles in 15J secs—a University record. Hyatt (American) won the pole jump with 148 in.—a University record. Sunnier, of Adelaide, was third, with 126 inches. LONDON, March 19. At the inter-Varsity sports, Porritt won the 100 yards in ten seconds, from a good start. Porritt went early to the front and maintained the lead. Though challenged 10 yards from the finish lie won by two feet
