THE RIALTO. Messrs H. Allchurcli and Co. report for the week ended March 13: At our usual “Rialto” sale on Friday, we had a good entry of poultry and pigs. Prices realised were as follows: — Poultry—Hens 2/9 to 3/G, cockerels, heavy 4/- to 5/3, others 2/9 to 3/6; roosters, 2/- to 4/6; ducks 5/-, all at per pair; geese 4/- each; chicks 3d each. Pigs—Weaners, IS/- and 20/each. bacon, shoulders 'and sides, 1/- lb; bran, 1201 b 12/-; potatoes Id lb; cabbage 2/1 to 9/- dozen; onions 12/6. Fruit.—Peaches 3d to 4Jd lb, nectarines 3d to 3id lb, plums 2Jd to 3d.lb, pears lid to 2Jd lb, apples dessert 2d to 3d lb, cookers lid to lid lb, tomatoes lsd to 3d lb, blackberries 5d to Gd per lb. Eggs.—The supply of S.C. Circle eggs has fallen off slightly during the past week or two, owing to the moulting season, consequently the demand is keener. The price for the week was 1/10 per dozen. The market is rising. Furniture and Effects. On Friday at our rooms we disposed of a fair quantity of furniture and effects at satisfactory prices. On Wednesday, 10th, we held a sale on account of the trustees in the assigned estate of A. J. M. Wheeler, consisting of town property and plant. The bidding for the property situated in LeCren St., started at £IOOO, and rose to £1125, at which price it was passed in, but a sale was made immediately after at an advanced price. A motor truck brought £SO, motor bike £l7, motor car £S 10s, and timber, etc.,' sold at market rates. Property Department.—We have to report steady business in this department.
