CRICKET.

SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. CELTIC v. ZINGARI. Interesting cricket should ho witnessed this afternoon, when Zingari and Celtic will meet in the Park to decide the senior premiership for the 1925-26 season. The meeting; of these two teams in the first round resulted in a. three-point victory for Zingari, placing them three points ahead of Celtic. The glorious uncertainty of cricket, however, had to bo contended with, and after suffering a three-point defeat at the hands of High School, Zingari again find themselves on equal terms with Celtic, witli 17 championship points. Zingari are holders of the Bristol Cup, and the result of this fixture, in addition to deciding the premiership, will also determine which team will defend the trophy against the challenge received from the Ashburton County. On the last ocasion of their meeting weather conditions unfortunately invested the toss with undue influence, and a substantial first innings total decided the game in Zingari's favour. With prospects favouring equitable weather conditions, and the Park wicket reported to bo in first-class order, a good exhibition of batting is expected from both sides. The teams are as follows: — Zingari—Ditchficld, Herdnian, Gledhill. Smith, Earl, Dewar, Menzies Seaton, Upham, Schrader, Shanks and Waugh. , ... Celtic —Angland, Annear, Austin, Diekel, Divan, Harding, Mason, J. Kano, F. Roper, and Sullivan.

The following will play for Star Juniors v. Fairvlew, at Fail-view, at 2 p.m. sharp:—Hallcett, Holden, Johnston, C. Moore, J. Stevenson, McCullough. Burns, E. MclCnight, W. Grant, T. Cullen, L. AVI Ison, Davies (3), Grant, Miller, Osmers, Andrews, Strang, Cunningham, A. Lawson.
