Anderson, Minister °,’ f UI “ GS > opened tho Murchison Show yesterday, and in the afternoon visited the Murchison Oil Company’s boring plant at Mangles Valley, where phenomenal oil and gas oxudations have interested people for many years. Boring operations will commence almost immediately. The Minister trusted the efforts would be successful, and assured the directors of the Government’s desire to assist in every way possible. In tlie course of bis remarks at the show, Mr Anderson made a strong appeal for the purchase of British goods, instancing particularly the extent'.to which money is sent abroad for motor cars. “If you l-.ave to buy these blessed cars, buy them from Britain.” Of every pound that went to America, 18s had to be in cash, for they did not want our produce, and put up a barrier against it, but if tho money went to England it camo back, because they buy our produce.
