The young and beautiful wife of a wealthy tradesman at Lugano, when sho awoke, found at the bedside the following note' written in Italian: “Signorina, last night I visited your flat when you. were asleep. As I had nbt the honour of a personal invitation, I entered by the window frankly in order to' rob you. You will notice I collected your jewels arid valuables, Which I intended to take off, but I saw you sleeping peacefully, fell ih love with you, sat ten minutes by tho bedside, devouring your beauty, became ashamed and therefore restored them. Your Humble Admirer.”
