As a result of a disturbance outside the United States Hotel, Carlton, John Henry Didds, aged 42, died front a bullet wound in the head. jack Maxwell O’Shea, licensee,, had boon arrested on a charge of murder. Accor,'..ng to the statement oi O’Shea, ho and another man heard sounds of a man attempting to break tlie back gate. They saw one mart climbing the . gate, the others assisting. -
O’Shea fired a shot from a revolver intending to frighten them, but the mail off thq gate fell off. The men scattered when the police arrived and escaped.
