VALEDICTORY.
DR, BOWE FAREWELLED. Yesterday, afternoon a pleasant function was held in the loiinge of tho Grosveuor Hotel, where a large number of professional men assembled to .farer Well Dr. Bowe, who is leaving Timaru On ,a trip to the Old Country. Mr Win. Evans presided, aftd iri asking Dr. Bowe to accept two handsome travelling rugs for himself aiid Mrs Bowe, referred to the esteem in which he was held by the medical men of Timaru, and bv all who had come into contact with Jiiin. The Doctor’s health was drunk with musical honours: Mr J- P- Newman, as one of the conveners of the gathering, said it ’waii with regret that he bade Dr. Bowes + adieu. Ho endorsed all that had been said of tlie Doctor, and washed him “bon voyage,” and the best of luck. Dr. Unwin, on behalf of ,the medical profession, said he had always found Dr. Bowe a cheery optimist, who had. ever been a great help to the medical practitioners of Timaru. He regretted that Dr. Dcwe was leaving the Doj minion, but he was sure that ho, v'ould return, and in such event would oo assured of a wjirnv welcome home by his many friends in Timaru. Dr. Bowe suitably replied.
