Tho International Soccer nnu.cn, England v. Australia, was played at Thebarton Oval. The weather was favourable, and tho attendance fair. England had control of the early stages of the game, their combination boig perfect ana attack brilliant. They led at half-time by threo goals to nil. in the second spell England became ragged, and their defence sluggish. In dcteiico the Colonial forwards were weak, but Norman, at centre-half, held Whittaker well. The Australians secured a penalty goal near tho end, and the final scores were: England 4 Australia 1
B.attin obtained two goals, and Whittaker and Elkes, one each, for England ; and Gardiner shot Australia’s lono goal. Prominent on the English side were : Battin, Graham, and Charlton; and on the Australian: Norman, Mitchell, and Pilgrim.
