HOCKEY.
SOUTH', CANTERBURY COMPETITIONS. Competition matches for both ladies and men were played on Saturday in fine weather. In the men’s section Geraldine A. met Cambridge on the Park, and after a fast game Cambridge proved victorious "by two goals to one. Goals were scored for the winners by Cappell and Kennedy, and for the losers'"'Sharpe hit a goal. C.F.C.A., Avon by default from Geraldine B.
In the ladies’ section, Timaru met Stafford, and won by 3 goals to
Celtic ladies journeyed to Milford, and defeated the home team by two goals to nil, M. Fitzgerald scoring both times. Results of the Orari v. Winchester match played' at Winchester have not come to hand.
