LIQUOR REFORM.

PROHIBITION ACTIVITIES IN N.S.W. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY, May 15. The New South Wales Alliance decided to change the name to the New South Wales Prohibition Alliance. The annual report showed that the State’s drink' bill last year was £11,349)000, or £5 2s 8d per head oi the population. The increase over the previous year was £295,000.

The arrests lor drunkenness also showed an increase. In view of these facts it is claimed that satisfactory regulations for the restriction of the drink traffic are unthinkable, and the only course was to light for total prohibition, hence the change of name.
