Bookmakers have made several attempts of late to invade the golf links, during tournaments. To-day tAvo with mail bags took up a position at the first tee at Hollimvell, Nottingham, where one hundred of the best professionals Avere competing for the “Daily Mail” £I2OO prizes. When the bookmakers 'offered odds they Avere told by the Nottingham Club they Avould not be tolerated. The bookmakers thereupon removed their bags, but remained as spectators'. Charles Johns Avon the first prize with an aggregate of 293 for four rounds. Mitchell and Ray returned 295 each, Duncan 300.
