The Prince of Wales. A Press Association message received ' from Capetown says that the Prince of Wales has arrived at Port Elizabeth. He addressed the first-large gathering of natives, chiefly Zulus, whom lie cautioned against mistrust of those in j authority. Mr T. W. Sattertlnvaite returned to Timaru from Wellington yesterday. Mr F. J. Rolleston, M.P., returned to Timaru from Wellington yesterday. Mr J. Bitchener, M.P. for Wait.nki, ■ passed through Timaru yesterday on his return from Wellington to his home , at Hook. ! Messrs Reg. Hall (Brisbane), W. W. Mcliao (Waikari), and J. Philip (Invercargill), are at present at the , Hydro Grand Hotel. I The Rev. George Miller, Moderator of tlio Presbyterian General Assembly of New Zealand, was a passenger by yesterday’s first express for Dunedin. 1 Mr E. G. Kerr returned from Christ- ! church by the first express yesterday, j ltev. T. W. Potts returned to Timaru from Dunedin by yesterday’s first express. Mr Wm. Drake, formerly of the Timaru postal staff, but latterly postmaster at Papatoetoe, has been promoted to Otaliuhu in a similar position. j Mr lan Jack passed through Timaru by the express yesterday from Dunedin on liis way to Christchurch, where he is to join the legal of the Public Trust Office. ! Guests at present at the Grosvenor Hotel include : —Messrs G. Kingscott (Melbourne), R. B. Temple (Gisborne), S. J. Sunds (Wellington), A. W. Fleetwood, J. Clayton, A. W. Studham (Christchurch).
