College, made a scatning attack on modern society. He said tile homage recently paid to Royalty was now paid to screen stars, who were frequently luxurious libertines; These public pets receive £3 to £4 per minute, while University men and teachers cannot allord to buy necessary books and instruments. The rotter in society is tolerated as a "good sport.” Referring to the struggle for material wealth and the lack of any high ethical objective, Dr. Uren declared that all our progress had been 'technical ,not ethical.
