MORTON AND PEARSON; Messrs Morton and Pearson report for the week ended May t)th as folFurnituro. —An improved, demand wan exporionced for furniture, and I riday’s salo was responsible for a good clearance. . Property.—'Die inquiry still holds good, and very satisfactory business was transacted in this department. Fruit. —Shipments of Island oranges and bananas arrived on Monday, and as prices were considerably lower than previous shipments larger quantities woro handled. Further heavy contignments should arrive here towards the ond of the week. Apples and pears wero plentifully supplied, and prices wore practically unchanged. •Linen salo.—On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday we conducted special sales of Irish linen for Mr Darcy Ford in premises lately occupied by Finlaysen*l Ltd. Poultry.—A good entry was penned on Friday, the following prices being realised :—Hens 3s Gd to os Gd pair, cockerels 4s Gd to Gs Gd pair, roosters Gs 6d to 6s 9d pair, breeding birds 7s each

THE RIALTO. H. Allchurch and Co. report for the week ended May 9th : On Firday we had a largo entry of poultry and pigs, 31 pigs of various grades being yarded. Prices realised wero a-s follows ;—■ Poultry.—Hens, heavy 4s to 5s 3d, others 2s Gd to 3s 9d; cockerels, heavy 5s to 7s Gd, others 3s to 4s 9d; roosters 2s to 5s Gd, all at per. pair; geese- 4s 3d each. A lino of pullets realised 5s Gd to Gs 9d per pair. Pigs.—Weaners 9s Gd to 13s Gd, slips 15s 6d to 16s, suckers 5s to 8s each. Produce. —Wheat 23s to 28s, potatoes 8s to 10s, honey, bulk, Gd per lb, onions 9s Gd per cental. Fruit. —Apples, dessert 7s to 10s Gd. cookers 4s to 6s; pears 2s to 7s, all at per case. _ , Eggs.—Very limited supply of Circle eggs nro coming to hand, and arc meeting with a ready market. Prices for the wook were 2s 7d to 2s 9d per dojen, Preserved eggs are quoted at la 9d to Is lOd.

Household furnituro. —On Friday wo disposed of £i. fair quantity of furnituro and effects at satisfactory prices. Clearing sale.—On 6th inst, wo hold a clearing saJo on account of tho Rev. W. Jellie, who has left for Auckland, Bidding was koen and each lot offered was readily disposed of at satisfactoiy prices. Table potatoes, 7s 6d to 93; wheat firsts £1 6s 6d, seconds £l, thirds 12s 6d to 15s; barley, seconds 14s 6d to 16s; pig potatoes 2s 6d to 3s; onions 10s to 10s 6d cental. ' Fruit. —Cooking apples 4s to ss, dessert 7s 6d to 8s 6d. Second-hand furniture sold at reasonable rates.
