NEW TRAIN SERVICE.
COMMENCED ON MONDAY The new express train service was brought into operation oh Monday, the object being to . give' a quick through service from Christchurch to Invercargill, and vice versa, Under the. new scheme the Christ-cliurch-Invercargill express runs daily, and arrives at Timaru at 11.35 a.m., departing at 11.41 a.m. The Invercar-gill-Christchurch express, which will aho run daily, is duo at 4.7 p.m., and departs at 4.15. On Mondays, Wednesdays. and Fridays the Clifistcliurch-Dunedin express should arrive at 3.28, and depart at 3.34 . Tho Duncdin-Chrii.tohurch express, which also will run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, is due at Timaru at 1.47 p.m., and departs at 1.53 p.m. The Fairlio train, which had previously been leaving at 4 p.m., is now delayed until 4.22 p.m. so as to enable pasengers arriving by thi late south express to proceed to Fairlie without having to. spend the night in Timaru.
