Rivers Now; Subsiding.

The Htuvkesbury river rose thirtyone feet, and submerged a wide stretch of the lowlands, the residents of which were removed in tilne to safety.
Both along the Hawkesbury river and the Shoalhaven river, heavy damage has been done to the unharvested maize crops. There has also been considerable losses in live stock, as well as damage to property.

The flood at Bega, where a large area is inundated, claimed two victims named Henry Duncan and Ted Walker. The men were crossing Yarrung flat in a dray, and were cut off by the flood waters. A party, attempting the rescue, got into difficulties. Two of the party were washed away, but managed to reach the bank. In the meantime, Drincan and Walker had disappeared. The bodies have not been recovered.
