Lord Milner. A cable message from London says : A bulletin states that Lord Milner lost ground last night, insomuch tnat tho temporary improvement disappeared. Mr J. P. Newman was a passenger for the north by yesterday’s express. Mr J. R. Templin, engineer to the South Canterbury Power Board, was m Timaru yesterday. Mr B. B. Blackmoro was yesterday appointed to a position on tho stair or the Waitaki Boys’ High School. Mr J. Kennedy, Mayor of Geraldine, was yesterday re-elected chairman or the South Canterbury Power Board. His Worship tho Mayor (Mr G. J. Wallace) who is at present suffering from a severe cold, was confined to Ills homo yesterday.
Mr P. W. Donaldson, telegraphist at the Invercargill Telegraph Office, has boon appointed to tho position of Supervisor of tho Telegraph branch at the Timaru Post Office. Mr H. W. Holmes, 0.8. E., F.R.G.S.. who is lecturing under tho auspices of the Y M.C.A., will be tho guest of tho Tunaru Ministers’ Association tms afternoon. Mr Holmes will pay a visit to the Boys’ High School on Thursday morning, and give a talk to the pupils.
