WAIMATE.

HOSPITAL COMMITTEE-. The monthly meeting of the Waimate Hospital Committee was held on Wednesday night. Present.—Messrs W. Geddes (chairman) 1 T. Brown. R, H. White, P: Pollock, W: Beer, J. H. Mitchell, phd the medical superintendent (Dr. E. C: Hayes): The chairman stated that receipts for the month were £123 9s 6d, and acoounts amounting to £537 16s 5d were presented for payment. The return of patients showed that S 3 were Under treatment at cfate of last return. During the month 46 had been admitted, making a total of 79 treated. Forty had been discharged, and four relieved, leaving 35 ram,lining under treatment.
The medical superintendent reported that the month had been fairly quiet, and ; the work ' had proceeded satisfactorily. Sister McLeod had taken up her duties during the month. On beh,alf of the medical f staff, he would like to thank the committee for. the alterations to the operating theatre. Dr. Hayes's suggestion that duck boards be put down at the entrance to the shelters w.as agreed to. On behalf of the visiting committee, Mr Beer reported that they had visited the Hospital on Monday last, and found' 89 patients under treatment. Everything was working smoothly. The chairman stated that as the lease of the committee’s meeting rooms expired this month, the next meeting would be held at the Hospital.
