OHINEMUEI—AT LAST!
(fbom a coebespondbnt.) Ohinemuei, November 6. The opening of this country is now almost un fait accompli. All the Mooris have been'served with a notice of a meeting, to be held by Mr Mackay, on the 9th instant, at which the whole of the issues of this lengthened case ffill be fully discussed, and judgment given. The decision to be arrived at has already been made known, and I am glad to inform you that it is favourable. A preliminary meeting of a few "nobs" is to be held to-day to arrange for the great event, They are all confirmed "opening" men, so that no trouble need be anticipated from their deliberations. Te Hira has given the " Open Sesame," so it must be all right. A great deal has been said as to the manner in which the Government has gone about the business, but when the full facts of the case have been clearly stated, I have no doubt but those who were loudest in condemning will be found amongst the first to give their share of praise.
