POLICE COURT.—Yesterday,
(Beforo W. FiUSER, Esq., IUl.) Bbeaches of Mustcipal By-laws-. Goats at Laeq-e.—Agnes Baxter was charged with allowing a goat and two kids to wander at large in Shortland. She admitted the offenco. She had to pay Bs poundage fees. She was fined 2s and costs.—Johanna Conroy was charged with allowing a goat to wander in Grahamstown. Defendant did not appear.—Sergt. Klliot proved to having impounded the goat. Mrs Conroy admitted that it was hers.—lt. S. Brown, poundkeeper, stated that the animal was released for defendant. Fined Is and costs.-John Bryan was charged with allowing a goat and two kids to 'wander in Grahamstown. Defendant's wife appeared and acknowledged the offenco. Fined Is and costs. —George L. Ginn was charged with laying building materials on the road in Pollen-street, Thames.-Defendant said there was only a little sand, and he did not think there would be anything about that considering that there were large heaps of stones on the other side of the road. He had a permit for seven feet but that space was not sufficient. He was fined Is and costs.—His Worship asked if he had not-to pay 5s for a license.-—Mr Dean said no charge was made.—His Worship in referring to the By-law said a charge of Ss for each permit was provided for.
