The.ship 'Oxford'has arrived from London, with 450 immigrants, She left on the 6th of June, and consequently made the run from port, to port in 92 days. The Health Officer reports that the immigrants are generally in good health. The vessel experienced very fine weather during the. passage, whieh : was an uneventful one. Whooping cough broke out on board shortly after leaving. There are still fifteen cases, Six infants died during the voyage, three from bronchitis, one from whooping cough, and'two from diarrhoea. These were the only deaths. Some cases of diarrhoea, and one of rheuraatie fever are still on board. The Health Officer has passed the vessel. The' Ferndale' has also arrived from London, after a passage of 125 days. The Waitemata election returns give Mr Yon der Heyde amijority of 67. Devon- | port—Yon der Heyde, 166; Macfarlane, 72. Woodside—Von der Heyde, 6; Macfarlane, 8. Eiverhead—Yon der Hoyde, 7; Macfarlane, 26. ! Huia—Yon der Heyde, 4; Macfarlane, 43. Henderson's Mill—Yon der Heyde, 33; Macfarlane, 1. Whau—Yon der Heyde, 35;' Macfarlane, 345. . Only three returns are to come in, and they cannot alter the result. Sharemarket: — Sales: Thames, 40s. Buyers: Thames Gas, 365, ex div.
