Auckland, Friday, 5.15 p.m. It is reported that an attempt will be made to unseat Mr Yon der Heyde, on the ground that his naturalization, which took place in South Australia, was not renewed in Now Zealand, The idea is ridiculed.—A deputation, introduced by Mr Cadman, waited on the Provincial Government relative to the 'Southern Cross' steamer discontinuing calling at Whitianga and Mercury Bay, aud it was found that those places were not included in the contract. The Government admitted the hardship, and promised to endeavour to effect a reform. Sharemarket dull. Sales : Crown. They got to-day some small leaders of a likely gold-bearing character. —The Brutus leader, on the Waikoromiko, is improving and showing gold.— The Plutus battery and machinery is being got on the ground, and will soon make a show.—The Union Beach got large stone last night showing gold freely.—The Tokatea got 801b? of specimens during the week from the tribute leader, and 151bs from the Bismarck level, making 2501bs for the fortnight. The fortnight's crushing gave 326oza.—Yon der Heyde's success is a groat blow to the News.
