At the hearing of Macfarlane's case to-day, Dr. Home said that if Major Keddeirdid not appear by Wednesday, the Bench'would dismiss the case. Mr Bees replied that he never heard such a statement from a Benoh, and would report it to the Government. Dr. Horne corrected himself, and said he meant he would proceed with the case. '-Mr Bees said if Major Keddell was not present on Thursday, he would apply for a warrant 'to compel his attendance. -The.case was •adjourned.—Mr D. H.
