POLICE COURT.—Yesterday.
Be!ore J. Keddell, Esq., lUI. , Labceny.—Edward Jones, a youth about 16; or 17 years of age, was charged that he did, on the 7th instant, from the shop of John IWnsend, Grahamstown, feloniously steal the sum of 6s, the property of the said John 'IWnsend. Sergeant Elliott applied for a remand until Monday. The prisoner was only arrested at half-past 10 _ o'clock last night, and there was no tim? to get the evidence. The remand was granted.
Music and Dancing Psbmit.—Mary E. Hanham applied for permission to have music and daucing in her licensed house, the Prince Alfred hotel, on the evening of the Bth instant. Permission was granted subject to the house being closed to the public at the usual hour.
