INGLEWOOD
(From Our Own Correspondent.) April 19.—Fairly good weather was experienced for the , Easter holidays. There were no local attractions, consequently the usual exodus from the town took place, Tho clanging of the firo-bell caused same- alarm yesterday. Fortunately the outbreak proved to ho ; nothing worse than a burning chimney. An effort is being made to put the Town Band on a more workable basis. It is to lie hoped that the citizens of Inglewood will respond liberally to any calls that may be made on them on behalf of.tho band, otherwise wo will be left without music of any kind. Talking about music, 1 have heard rumours of the Inglewood amateurs staging an opera here. It is said that “lolantho” is the piece chosen. This is certainly good news, and your correspondent wishes tho promoters of tho opera tho best of success.' , Two of tho directors of the Aloa Dairy Company have resigned owing to a disagreement over the proposed Alanganui Creamery.
