* From the Star. Auckland, 1.31 p.m. Robinson, clerk to the Resident Magistrate’s Court, at Papakura, charged with the embezzlement of £l7 odd, has been remanded until to-morrow. Derose; a tradesman, for using false scales, lias been fined £l. Duncan, charged with using unstamped weights, has been fined Is. At the annual meeting of the Long Drive G.M.Co., the report showed that the mine had been closed since the last annual meeting for the purpose of amalgamating with other companies, but the company had not succeeded. Captain Daldy was re-elected a director. Arrived: The ship Maid of Judah, from Sydney.
