GENERAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

A New Zealand Gazette of August 12th, specifies the land to be taken for the Auckland and Mercer Railway, also appointments of public vaccinators, and of additional polling places for the district of Cavershnm. The Governor’s assent is notified to the following Bills :—“Wholesale Dealers in Spirituous Liquors Licensing Act Amendment Bill, 1872;”“Hawke’s Bay Police Act, 1872;” “Credit Act, 1872 ;” and “ Appropriation Act, 1872.” Messrs E. F. Tole, and P. Lundon are appointed to act as Interpreters under the Native Lands Act. Several notices are given under the Land Transfers Act. J. D. Wrigglesworth, of Wellington, applies for a patent for a novel method of ornamenting photographs. Notice is given that the affairs of the Christchurch Town Hall Company are to be w'ound up forthwith, &c.
