FATAL ACCIDENT AT PORT ALBERT.

Thomas Stanley, who was captain of the cutter Euphemia, belonging to Mr J. Latnb, Riverhead, was drowned at Port Albert, on the 18th instant. The dingy had got loose from the cutter, and he stripped and jumped into the river to overtake it, and as he reached it he had not strength to get in, and sank never to rise. Mr Broadbury and Mr Plummer, Port Albert, launched a boat at once, but -all was of no avail, as he never came to the surface. Mr Stanley was well known and much respected in the Kaipnra district. He leaves a wife and family in Auckland to mourn their loss.— Crows.
