To the Editor of the Thames Guardian. Sir, —In your daily contemporary of Auckland, the Southern Cross , of the 10th inst., it is reported that one E. Dixon was . brought before the Resident Magistrate’s
Court, in Auckland, charged with obtaining IQs and goods under false pretences. -• Permit mo to say, that as a few of my enemies would rejoice in the fact, did the statement allude to me, I shall be extremely glad if you will state that the E. Dixon in question is not the E. V. Dixon, late of the Telegraph coutract be.ween Katikati and tho Thames Goldfields. —I am, &c. E. V. Dixon. Contractor, Grahamstown, August 14th, 1872.
