(from our own correspondent.) CONSUL FOR NOUMEA. DEPARTURE OF THE GOVERNOR. THE SHAREMARKET. AUCKLAND. Wednesday, 8 p.m. The whole of the wreck of his Lordship’s Larder has been removed. The timber is to be used in erecting houses at Coromandel. Mr John Cruickshank has been appointed Vice-Consul for H.B.M. at Noumea, New Caledonia. He leaves here to-morrow in the Hero, to commence liis new duties. The sharemarket has been unusuaMy dull to-day, stock having a downward tendency. Sales : Caledonian, Ll 7 ; Thames, L 5 12s 6d ; Moanataiari, L 5; Cures, 295. The Nevada arrived off Napier yesterday, after having experienced very heavy weather down. The s.s. Hero sails for Sydney to-morrow afternoon. His Excellency the Governor will, I hear, proceed south on Friday next in the Colonial Government p.s. Luna. A schooner arrived here to-day with the first cargo of coals from the Waikato mines.
