WATER SUPPLY.
To the K-.litor of the Thames Guardian. Sir, — I see from your issue of this morning that the Government Engineer and Mr John O’Neill have arrived here to inspect the “ low-level water scheme.” Now, sir, I trust that something definite will be arrived at, and that the water supply will be carried out. It has been talked about, and gone over time after time, and now surely something will lie done in the matter ; or are we to have more Government officials to go over the line again, and make further reports to the Government ? Several C.Es. and that important personage the “ Under Secretary for Public Works,” Goldfield Department, have el ready gone over the ground and interviewed battery and mine managers respecting the same. Surely with all the talent that lias been brought to bear upon the scheme we may now rest content that at some distant day we may have a water supply.—l am, &c., Aqua.
