MEETINGS OF SHAREHOLDERS.

Goldfields Investment Comfany. —A meeting of the shareholders of the above Company was held yesterday at 4 o’clock in the office of Mr Alfred A. Brown, Wyndhnm-street. Mr Thomas Ritchie was voted to the chair. The Secretary, Mr Browne, read the advertisement calling the meeting, after which the minutes of the former meeting were read and confirmed. The Chairman read over the list of stock held by the Company as follows : —lO Whaus, 10 North Devons, 50 Coromandel Excelsior, 50 Red Queen’s, 5 Tokateas, 8 Goldfield Investment Company, 2 Nonpareils, Caledonians, and 50 Matawais. There was cash in hand of £6 17s 9d, and there was a sum of £3 due, leaving a clear balance of £3 17s 9d. The stock held by- the Company at the present market value was estimated at £9l 5s 3d. —Mr R. Cooley proposed that the Company be wound up as soon as possible, and within a period of six months, to be left in the hands of the legal manager, and Messrs Clarke and Walker. This provoked some debate, when Mr Cooley moved, “That the Company be wound up.”—Mr H. N. Warner seconded the motion, which was agreed to. —Mr Cunningham then moved that the stock of the Company be placed in the hands of Messrs Walker and Clarke for the purpose of being realisbed at their discretion, within a period of six months, the money to be placed at the Bank to the credit of the Company.—Dr Baynton seconded the motion, which was agreed to. —A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the business of the meeting. Coronet Company. A meeting of parties interested in the ground lately the property of the Coronet Goldmining Company was held at Mr Owen Jones’ office yesterday. Present Messrs Whitson, John Hay, Rogers, Dooley, Rattray, McDonald (Mr H. Frazer,) O. Jones, and McCarrigle ; and Mr James Russell in the chair. The claim having lately been sold and purchased by the mining manager, it was resolved to re-form the Company under the name of the Coronet No. 1 ; capital £20,000, in 4000 shares of £5 each ; £4 paid up. Messrs Rattray, Buchanan, Whitson, J. Russell, J. Moirin, and Rogers were elected directors ; and Mr Owen Jones was appointed legal manager. A call of Is per share was made, and paid by the parties present, the mine manager assuring the meeting that good payable gold will soon be got.
