THE COLONIAL ACCOUNTS.
From a statement published in a late Gazette of the public accounts of the colony, for the quarter ending 31st March, we find that the balance in hand on the first day of the quarter was £107,455. The receipts during the quarter were £727,429 ; imprests unaccounted for last quarter, £694.642. Total, £1,528,926. On the expenditure side we find : Balances in hand on last day of quarter, £265,513 ; expenditure during quarter, £651,316 ; imprests unaccounted for, £612,096. Total, £1,528,926.— Hera1d,
