VOLUNTEERING.
T.E.V. MEETING. A meeting of the Engineer Volunteers was held last night, at Finnimore’s Hall, when the balance-sheet was produced respecting the late performance of “ Rob Roy.” The total receipts were £Bl 12s 6d, and the expenses £46 16s, leaving a net profit of £34 16s 6d to go to the funds of the company. The various items of expenditure were read out seriatim, and the balance - sheet was unanimously adopted and referred to the Finance Committee of the company for audit A vote of thanks to Mr Perrier was proposed by Lieut. Brodie ad seconded by Volunteer McVey, for the great trouble he had taken in getting up the performance, which was characterised as the most successful amateur performance ever given on the Thames. The vote was carried unanimously with acclamation. Captain Gold smith gave those members present some instructions in engineering, which were listened to with attention. There was a large muster of the company.
