(from our own correspondent.) MEETING OF ICE COMPANY. ARRIVAL OF THE KEERA. THE SHAREMARKET. Auckland, 7.51 p.m. The Auckland Grammar School, in conjunction with the Central Board of Education, propose to offer five exhibition scholarships of £3O a year each. The Leonidas has arrived from Sydney. A meeting of gentlemen interested in the formation of an Ice Company was held to-day. It was resolved to form a company with a capital of £2,500, in 250 shares of £lO each. Provisional directors were appointed, and W. Kisling was instructed to draw up the deed of association. M. S. Leers . was appointed secretary pro. tem. The s.s. Keera arrived here to-day from Southern ports. Her news has been anticipated. She brings the following passengers :—Miss Lamb, Mrs Holloway and child, Miss Jackson, Mrs Jordan and child and servant, Messrs Scott, Fitchett, White, Young, Crawford, Holme, and Johnson. The barque Chattanooga has cleared outwards for New York, with a full cargo of wool and llax. Business has considerably improved since-yesterday, there being - a good demand for principal stock. Bismarck shares were being rapidly picked up at the low prices of £4 to £4 5s and £4 10s, at which prices they were sold. Caledonians sold at £l9 10s and £2O. Pride of Tokateas, 8s; buyers unsatisfied. Harbour View, 20s. Green Harps, £7. Thames, £5 ss; few sellers. Cure, 32s 6. Paul’s Creek, 2s. Working Miners, 5s 6d to 6s 3d. The barque Leonidas arrived this afternoon, from Sydney, which place she left on the 29th. Heavy gales were experienced during the passage. She has on board 150 barrels blasting powder, and a full general cargo.
