Gar report of the Waiotahi Highway Board meeting is held over until to-morrow, owing to a pressure ou our space. We would call the attention of the Engineer Volunteers to the drill to take place at the Volunteer Hall, Shorthand, this evening, when members arc requested to attend, as the tailor will be present to measure them for their uniforms, and a meeting will be held to transact important business. The Philharmonic Society's Concert will come off to-night, and promises to be a great success. A full rehearsal took place last night, when over forty vocalists were present, and went through the programme. Volunteering-. —The Scottish Company assembled at the Thames School last evening for company drill. After parade, Captain Murray said that Mr W. Laird had presented a prize to the company, to be fired for on Saturday week. Two other prizes were also promised from two gentlemen. Captain Murray alluded to tlie monthly inspection turn out to meet the Southern representatives. The Naval Brigade assembled to the number of 20 rank and file at Einiiimore’s old warehouse in Albert-street last evening, and were drilled by Sergeant-Major Grant.
