FATAL ACCIDENT IN THE ONEHUNGA CLAIM.
Another of those casualties to which men pursuing the avocation of mining are so liable, happened yesterday afternoon, by which a miner named James Feeney lost his life without a moment's warning. He was engaged in working at an open face in the Onehunga C'laun, ! Kanaka Creek, when a quantity cf stone came down suddenly on top of him, completely crushing the lower part of bis body. lie was at once extricated from the debris, but died before leaching die Hospital, where his body now lies. The deceased was an elderly man, and of quiet, steady habits. He leaves two sons and a daughter, all of whom are fortunately grown up. An inquest will be held to-day before Dr Kilgour, the Coroner, for the district.
