ST. PATRICK’S DAY
Yesterday proved to ha a beautiful day. and large numbers were about at an early hour, most of them wending their way to the various places of worship. u e could see that the “ Shamrock ” was not forgotten, must of “ Erin's ” sons wearing, if not the real thing itself, the nearest approach to it that could he obtained. The members of the Hibernian Society mustered to the number of about 150, at their hall, and, headed by a hand playing “St. Patrick's Day in the Morning,” marched to the Willoughby-sina t. church, where his Lordship ibsliop Croke preached a most eloquent sermon upon the life of S;. Patrick, deducing therefrom lessons of faith and obedience to the rules and discipline of the Church. Every portion of tlm building was crowded, and there were many standing outside unable to obtain admittance. A collection wasuiado at tlie close of Jhe ssnice, which was liberally responded to. At vespers in the evening, at which his Lordship assisted, there was also a very full attendance.
