TO-DAY’S SPORTS.

To-day will lie observed as a general holiday by tlie Thames public, and if the weather only prove propitious, all will have a chance of enjoying themselves. First of all come the races, l'or all of which there are numerous entries, and a capital day’s sport may lie anticipated. The course and all its belongings have been placed iu first-class order. A grand stand lias been erected bv Messrs Morgan and Thompson, capable of holding 4t'o persons. The structure is erected in such a maimer that no one can complain. It is lined throughout under the seats, which rise on an incline plane from the front, after the fashion or seats in a thcatrv. A nice saddling paddock has been enclosed at the back of tho grand stand, where jockeys will be weighed, away from the crush of the public. Mr Nash has the bar under the stand, and will supply the wants of the hungry and thirsty during the dav. Mr Hose has a booth on the right oand side of the grant stand for the suj - piy of refreshments, and fruit stalls have also been erected near at hand.
