AMUSEMENTS.

Theatre Royal. Barry’s Gymnast Troupe bad a very good house on Saturday night to greet them on their lirst .appearance at the Thames. Their acrobatic feats were all well and cleanly done, and were applauded. A long delay occurred in starting the journey across the tightrope, owing to some of life ropes used in other parts of the performance being in the way ; but it is to be hoped that these hitches will not occur again. The tightrope performances were all good and neatly done, both by Mr Bsrry and the lady. Riding across the rope on a bicycle was certainly the most wonderful part of the whole, and it was very well and neatly executed. This is a feat quite new to most, and is certainly worth seeing. The audience seemed to think that the performance was not long enough, and when God Have the Queen was played showed their disapprobation ; but we would remind them that when the performance consists solely of acrobatic feats, they cannot expect as long a one as they would get at an ordinary theatrical play. The company will appear again to-night. Academy of Music. —The Fijian Cannibals did rot arrive in time to play on Saturday night, but held a rehearsal, and will appear to-night, when a most unique performance is oitered as an attraction to the public. This is certainly something out of the usual run of theatrical performances, and would, wo imagine, be worth a visit.
